BREAKING NEWS: CATS ARE HAIRY
I spent most of Sunday running around, trying to get stuff to keep my computer from overheating when running processor intensive apps. I started out by getting canned air at Best Buy. I tried to clean out the heat sink with that, but I couldn't get the right angle while it was mounted in the case, so I took it out and broke the cheap-ass plastic fasteners in the process. Nice.
So now I have to go and buy a new heat sink, since this one won't attach anymore. I try to go over to CompUSA only to hit random backed up traffic on Perry Parkway (which is actually just a small two lane road), so I turned around and went to try Best Buy. They didn't have any, but the guy said that CompUSA did for sure. Yeah, I knew that already, but I couldn't get there.
I then drove down 355 to try to get to CompUSA from the other direction, but I ran into traffic there too. So I ended up parking like half a mile away and walking. CompUSA is right across from the Gaithersburg Fairgrounds, and apparently Sunday was the day where the entire countries of Central and Southern America were to meet there. I don't know why, but there were certainly tons of Latinos there. Although, I didn't see any on the actual fairgrounds. I just saw about 30,000 parked cars. There were people here and there walking toward the cars, but no one actually seemed to be doing anything. I'm not sure what was going on.
Anyway, I found a good heat sink at CompUSA for $40, and it was actually better than the one I had. I bought that, took it home, and installed it, and now I can play games and run my virus scanner without the computer dying. Also, I still have a good bit of canned air.
Shooting cats with canned air is AWESOME.
