2006 Year In Review

1. What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before? Went horseback riding; started learning to play the guitar.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? Same as last year: I don't do that stupid stuff.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Gillian and Jen.

4. Did anyone close to you die? My grandma died in Septemeber.

5. What countries did you visit? Does New Jersey count as another country? I think it should.

6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006? A Nintendo Wii; an HDTV.

7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? September 29, the day my grandma died.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Probably building a $3000+ poker bankroll.

9. What was your biggest failure? I didn't read my Bible enough.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I have a pinched nerve in my right leg.

11. What was the best thing you bought? My guitar and amp!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? My wife, because she is totally awesome and does everything for me.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Same as last year: name a politician, any politician.

14. Where did most of your money go? My guitar and amp; eating lunch out at work with the guys. Buying a new heat pump for the house.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Playing in live poker tournaments at Foxwoods.

16. What song will always remind you of 2006? Songs don't really remind me of any certain year.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? happier
ii. thinner or fatter? probably a little fatter. I need to exercise more
iii. richer or poorer? richer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? reading my Bible, exercise

19. What do you wish you'd done less of? I dunno

20. How will you be spending Christmas? We went to Courtney's parents and my parents. Amazingly, without any travel issues.

22. Did you fall in love in 2006? every day

23. How many one-night stands? We have four nightstands. Two are in our bedroom, and two are in the second bedroom. Oh, wait. I read that wrong.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Prison Break, House, 24, Lost, Day Break.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I don't hate people.

26. What was the best book you read? Shogun

27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Muse! Thank you Matt Green!

28. What did you want and get? A guitar and amp.

30. What was your favorite film of this year? I thoroughly enjoyed both Casino Royale and The Good Shepherd.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 26, and C invited people over to watch a VT football game. It was lots of fun.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Julie being able to talk.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006? Same as 2005. I could care less about this crap.

34. What kept you sane? God and friends and family.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Same as last year: Stephen Colbert is the best thing to happen to television.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? The Iraq War, mostly because the idiots in the administration don't know how to fight one.

37. Who did you miss? My sisters and parents.

38. Who were the best new people you met? I think Tito was the coolest new person I met.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2006: Life's too short to sweat the small stuff. Also, heat pumps are freaking expensive!

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: "We didn't start the fire. It was always burnin' since the world's been turnin'." I don't think it sums up the year in any particular way, it just happens to be what I'm listening to right now.
